In my previous blog, I talked about the struggles of adapting to the new methods of dating as a woman in her late 20s. And now I'm back with yet another "dating" topic. Because why the f not? people in my age are getting outdated. Someone has to step up and educate y'all dumbass.
Anyway, most terms that I will share with you are from the podcast that I used to binge-listen to a few years back. Boiling Waters PH is the name they go by and I highly suggest you look them up on Spotify para di kayo maging bano sa pakikipag date. Wow sakin pa talaga nang galing They're funny, and entertaining and will help you understand today's complicated dating scene. Next up is Tiktok, yes Tiktok! istg, they're out there teaching me all the new slang, the Tita in me is impressed! And confused af, honestly.
So without further ado, let me give you a quick introduction to modern-day dating terms. Make sure you grab a paper and a pen Titos/Titas!
1.) Talking stages - basically means that you guys are getting to know each other, messaging, and video calling, but not officially together. This is where the no-label relationship comes in. It's where you guys stay up late talking to each other, doing overnight videocalls like a fucking CCTV idk man, maybe go on a date or two but that's just it. No one has the guts to ask about the real deal between you two. And the most gasgas answer to your crappy situation is "whatever happens, as long as we're happy" lol but to be honest, this is actually nothing new. We used to call this "mutual relationship" or "MU" back in high school, just took on a different term but it's pretty much the same- like dating but not exclusively.
2.) Sneaky link - which is just a different term for fubu or fuck buddies. It's when you two are hooking up but secretly. No emotional attachment whatsoever and the like. Just purely and entirely sexual. You'll be surprised by the number of people who are up for this kind of stuff. Like 6/10 profiles on Bumble are looking for sneaky links. I kid you not. That's how it goes nowadays. No judgment though. I say you do you but with no strings attached, that's some tough stoned heart y'all must have. I mean how can you not catch feelings while doing it? Sad fact, finding a fubu is WAY EASIER than finding love. USE PROTECTION KIDS!!!
3.) Benching - it is when someone is making you wait since they see you as a potential partner but not the right time to pursue you or perhaps not at all. Just there to make you an option. They like you, yes. But they prefer flirting over pursuing. Like in a sport, when you are put on the bench, you can either have your chance to play or nah hence, the term, benching.
4.) Orbiting - when you guys stop communicating but still gives you general social media attention and the like. Making you aware of his presence but that's just it. Orbiting because they still revolve around your world popping in and out to heart react to that fb story you posted. Making you confused as fuck.
5.) Breadcrumbing - when someone is giving you hints that they like you but not actually doing anything, something similar with bare minimum givers. Will just give you a little effort to keep you interested. In short paasa.
5.) Situationship - entering a dating scene out of convenience, be it with your neighbor you always walk home with, a long-time friend who could be a potential lover or just an itch that you desperately want to scratch for the longest time (iykyk), could also relate to sneaky links once sex is involved.
6.) Ghosting - the most famous of all, it's when someone stops all forms of communication with you and disappears into thin air without saying goodbye, and leaves you wondering. They're just...
There's actually a lot more but these are just the most common used terms. Maybe we can talk about it on my next blog.
Not gonna lie, I'm not even familiar with most of them, had to use google coz my 2 braincells failed to function for a moment! Gosh can't we just use "dating" as it is and not make it more complicated? As if dating alone isn't hard enough, people came up with so many stupid terms.
It's confusing geez.
Apparently, it's hard to find genuine love when the people out there be playing and shit. No matter what relationship term you fall into if the person you are seeing does not see your value and does not respect you, L.E.A.V.E.

Doing a quick blog post, before I get busy again with work.ðŸ˜
This one has been long overdue but a girl got to rest.
First trip to the beach this year! Apparently, I haven't gone to any beaches since the lockdown began. Bummer, right?
Soooo...
Came Saturday morning, I went to meet my friends after logging out from work the night before. Manuel Uy Beach is located in Calatagan, Batangas which is approximately a 3-4 hr drive from Manila.
Got a quick breakfast at Jolibee! Also bought some last-minute camping necessities like insect repellant and wet wipes.
Arrived just in time for lunch. We met the rest there as they had to travel earlier than us to save the group slots. Apparently, Manuel Uy doesn't entertain reservations, only on a first-come, first-served basis. They also pitched our tents so we're pretty much all set! Thank you, guys!
We had a samgyup set prepped by RK for our lunch!
Thankful for the sunny weather!
Changed into my swimsuit, and bathed in the sun before taking a dip into the sea.
running low on sleep pero go lang!
It was around 3pm, a low-tide time so we had to walk on a rocky seabed for around 5-10 minutes until we reached the waist-high part of the beach.
Sakit sa paa but gotta act like it doesn't hurt. Parang sa love lang

Swam for a good hour or two before going back to the shore. Dried myself up and felt the need to take a nap. It was a good 2-ish hour of sleep.
We had grilled liempo, and hotdogs for dinner! Also started drinking alcoholic drinks, Seagrams and Tequila ftw.

Conversations got more serious as the night deepened. We took turns in drinking while enjoying the cold sea breeze, everybody was either tipsy or loud! Chika malala, ungkatan ng love life, and just us being marites 😂😂
What a fun night!
Stayed at the seashore, stargazing like the mf dramatic ghorl in me.
Had a shower right after, headed to our tent, and called it a night.
Woke up around 4am coz my back was aching. Kept on rolling over to my friend's side coz apparently, we didn't flatten out the sand where our tent was pitched so it was kind of a downhill slope, and I, being in the middle suffered the most.😩
Another funny story, the only pillow I used was a pack of wet wipes. This girl was too drunk to look for her pillow. Istg I had one packed but I wasn't able to rummage through our stuff, it's already dark, and that's the only thing I managed to get my hands on. ðŸ˜
But.. can we take a moment to appreciate how beautiful this view is???
I'd love to do this again tbh.
Had a quick breakfast then left.
We dropped by Bulalo Point for lunch.
