Hi kids, and silent readers, today let's talk about how my June went.
In the first week of June, my friends and I met up to plan our next trip. My super arte self even made a presentation. They all liked it; it actually made our meeting productive coz istg we would defo end up just grabbing lunch and going home lol
We had lunch at Las Flores
Then had some beverages and donuts at Randy's just across the street.
The weather was sunny that day—thank goodness!
and yes our next trip is Puerto Princesa!!
izz giving financial advisor realness!!
In the second week, we celebrated our beloved Zippo's birthday at the Spotted Pig.
Tita Grasya loves youuuuu♥
In the third week, I met up with an old friend, Jobelle - we had a LOT to catch up on.
We had brunch at Jones All Day, the serving was so generous we had a hard time finishing our plates lol
Never too early for an Aperol spritz.
We walked our way to Uptown Mall to watch a movie - How to Train Your Dragon.
and a photobooth to commemorate this reunion!
A week before our Pride Run, I helped my cousin buy his new running shoes since he is in his running era now. I couldn't be more excited!
I saw my dream shoes!!! Adidas EVO SL! soooon.
We had lunch at Sunnies Cafe in High Street.
The next day, we got our race kits! ahh it's starting to feel so real!
We had lunch at Goldilocks, mainly because I was craving for some Dinuguan. Call me OA but you know I almost cried when I first tasted it. I only eat my mom's Dinuguan and since her passing, I have never bought or eaten that dish anymore, and it's been nearly 10 years since then. Goldilocks' Diniguan is the closest to her cooking, and this somehow comforted me in a way. Ahh I miss you mama!
Last weekend was my nephew's 3rd birthday - we opted to have a simple dinner at Denny's with just us four. We let him play in Kidzoona, and we were all so happy because finally, he's starting to enjoy playing and not getting overwhelmed or annoyed around other kids!
Look at my kawaii sushi chef!
I can't believe he's so grown now; :( It makes me feel both happy and terrified at the same time! If I could keep him in my pocket all the time, I would! He used to be so smol, now he even talks back, lol.
- first time using my Rexona singlet outside during training
- travelling to my friends' place last minute, coz my wifi gone out
- rewatched my comfort show HIMYM while feeling the cold weather
- cr mirror selfie
- I ran another 10k that day, and felt pretty damn proud
- selfie with my future doctor♥
Now let's go to our Netflix section
I think I have watched over 10 documentaries this month!
First was "Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer," a true crime show about women who went missing near Gilgo Beach. Most of them were sex workers. Police didn’t solve the case for a long time. The show also talks about how people often ignore victims like them. It's sad that just because they are sex workers, they are seen as less worthy of justice.
Second one—"Into the Fire: The Lost Daughter" is about a young girl who disappears out of thin air. You have to watch it — Aundrea’s mom is such a badass! She never backs down and fights hard to find the truth. It’s a powerful story of a mother’s instinct and love.
Third on our list - "Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey" shows the mysterious death of 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenét. Her murder shocked the world and remains unsolved. It’s a deep dive into one of the most famous cold cases in history. I feel so sad that it's been so long already!
Fourth - "The Many Deaths of Nora Dalmasso" talks about the murder of a 51‑year‑old mother in Argentina. It shows how the police mishandled the case, wrongly accusing her husband and son before new DNA evidence emerged nearly two decades later. This is such a frustrating watch.
Fifth - "An Invisible Victim: The Eliza Samudio" is about Eliza, a young model who disappeared after getting pregnant by Brazilian soccer star Bruno. She was tortured and killed on his orders in 2010, and her body was never found. You really can't spell disappointment without men.
6th was "Titan: The OceanGate Submersible Disaster", is about a deep-sea sub that went missing while diving to see the Titanic. It tragically imploded, killing all five people on board. The sub had safety issues that were ignored by the company. Such a sad story.
7th was "Shark Whisperer," which is about Ocean, who dives with great whites and tiger sharks—without a cage—to reshape how we view these misunderstood predators. I don't understand her advocacy as someone who fears sharks, but I respect and admire her for being so passionate about her cause.
8th was a magic show called "Justin Willman: Magic Lover" coz I felt like this list was heavy, so I wanted to end it on a lighthearted note. Plus, who doesn't like magic?
These are the movies I've watched:
1.) Ex Ex Lovers - a cute romcom about a single mom who felt the need to reconnect with her ex-husband for their daughter's wedding. Jolina and Marvin stans mag ingaaaay!
2.) And The Breadwinner- is a story about sacrifice, love, and what it really means to provide for your family. The sagutan in the last part is so real. This movie reflects the reality of the OFWs.
3.) Green Bones - I never thought this movie would make me cry. The story, the acting, and the cinematography. I love everything about it.
4.) Notthing Hill - I know long overdue but this is my first time watching the whole thing. I can finally say the iconic line of "I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her" without feeling guilty. lol
5.) Straw - is about a single mom having the worst day of her life. She’s tired, broke, juggling two jobs, and trying to take care of her sick child. Such a tearjerker!
6.) Red Eye - I can't lie, I fully watched that movie just to see young Cillian Murphy.
Did I despise his character? Absolutely.
Did his blue eyes and cheekbones make me forgive him a little? Unfortunately, yes
.
Oh, and guess what? I even squeezed in some anime this month! 🎌📺
Honestly, this might be my most productive Netflix era yet.
1.) The Reason Why Raeline Ended Up At The Duke's Mansion - I only read isekai manhwas and I just chose this show out of boredom but ended up enjoying the whole thing. I just wish they would release a second season, it has potential
2.) The Wind Rises - is such a well-made anime and plot. It focuses on the story of a boy who follows his dreams and falls in love along the way. It’s calm, poetic, and heartbreaking—a movie that shows how beauty and tragedy can exist side by side.
3.) Kpop Demon Hunters - this was recommended to me by my darling, Feli coz she was crushing soo hard on the male lead. I stayed for the guy, but I loved the story too. The songs are bomb!♥
That's a wrap for my Netflix section.
We're almost done here folks, just bare with me lol
5.) Dive - Olivia Dean (recently started listening to her and loving her music already!!)
To be honest, this month really tested my patience.
For some reason, I just haven’t been in the best place mentally or emotionally. You know those days when even sleep doesn’t bring peace? It’s been like that.
But I’m managing—and I’m grateful for that. I’m proud of how I’ve still managed to show up for life, even with all the bumps and twists along the way. One day at a time.
