Hi kids,
Today’s blog diary is all about August. A little late, I know—but Mom was in her traveler era (lol) and needed a few days to rest after the trip.
There’s plenty to catch up on, so let’s dive right in.
In the first week of August, I brought your aunt (my sister) out for brunch.
We went to Masa Madre and treated ourselves to some pasta and matcha (thankfully, no palpitations this time!). After that, we grabbed a few donuts from Randy’s Donuts—because why not?
When Uptown Mall opened, we strolled around for a bit, and by lunchtime, we ended up at Pizza Express. Safe to say, we ate a lot that day. By the time I got home, I was absolutely stuffed.
But honestly, I really enjoyed it. Since my nephew arrived, my sister and I don’t get to have our little dates as often, so I treasure these calm, fun, and quiet moments together.
On the second weekend, I headed to Liwliwa, Zambales to celebrate my bestie Gail’s birthday in advance. It was my first time there, so I was extra excited! This trip also marked the start of me sneaking in a little running while traveling—a new habit I’m trying to build.
The highlight? Dancing at the beach under the open sky ♥ It was pure joy.
Sharing the most beautiful sunset I've seen so far.
On the 14th, I flew to Bohol with Cherry (my coworker-turned-friend) for a quick getaway and to finally visit my good friend, Mina. We spent a few days in Panglao before heading to her hometown in Guindulman, which was about a 2–3 hour drive from the city.
And omg, kids—you have to visit this province. Part of me wants to gatekeep it because it feels like a hidden gem, but it’s honestly too stunning not to share.
29th - I went back to Gail and Stevie's place to hang out. They cooked steak again♥
I had to rush home the very next morning because I had signed up for my first-ever 10K race, the Sunnies Run!
To say I was ecstatic would be an understatement. I ran solo and, to my surprise, didn’t even feel that physically drained afterward. We did it, self! ♥ Such a solid way to wrap up August—probably my busiest month so far.
For the first time, though, I really felt my age catching up with me. I was sleepy ALL. THE. TIME. 😂 Unpacking from one trip only to pack again for Bohol the following week was definitely not on my 2025 vision board. Still, it’s a good kind of problem to have, and a cheeky little reminder that yep, I’m officially trenta now, lol!

Onto My Netflix Department
1.) Un Ex You - I watched a local romcom! It was okay—not bad at all, but honestly, the plot felt pretty familiar. Nothing too different from the other rom-coms I’ve seen before.
2.) Adolescence—This one honestly gave me the creeps. I kept asking myself how someone so young could do something so horrible. That said, the cinematography was outstanding—easily the strongest part of the film. To be fair, I probably wouldn’t have watched it if it hadn’t carried the “Emmy Nominee” tag, so… yeah.
3.) Sakaling Makarating—The story wasn’t just about love—it also touched on self-discovery and the art of letting go, especially when things are simply beyond your control.
4.) My Oxford Year—It actually made me cry. I loved the wholesomeness of the film despite its sad plot. Definitely recommend this one if you’re in the mood for a good crying session.
5.) The Last Goodbye—I also watched another local film about teenage love. It’s a bittersweet story, and the ending was quite sad—so consider yourself warned.
6.) Fit for TV—I ended the month with a documentary about the reality show “The Biggest Loser.” It really opened my eyes and made me realize that not everything we see on TV is as real as it seems.
Top Songs of the Month
Laufey and Sabrina both released new albums this month—you really have to listen! I’ll make separate blogs for each soon, but here are my top picks for now.
It’s funny because Laufey’s album is all soft-girl vibes, then Sabrina comes in with what feels like a full-on ovulating album 😂 lol
1.) Goodbye - Sabrina Carpenter (it's so ABBA coded I love it!)
2.) Forget Me Not - Laufey (she sang in Icelandic, need I say more?)
3.) Never Getting Laid - Sabrina Carpenter (Being mad at someone to the point where you secretly hope they never get it—that’s the kind of pettiness I aspire to sometimes
4.) The Subway - Chappell Roan (squeezing in this song coz the LSS power is just too real!)
5.) Snow White - Laufey (the lyrics spoke to me so much)
This month reminded me that there are still so many places I have yet to discover. The world is so big, and I’m just a tiny person living in this corner of it. Maybe, in a way, I’m slowly falling in love with the feeling of traveling.
The me from last year wouldn’t have imagined being this busy, but here I am. I may be a late bloomer, but I’m grateful—always—for the chance to see new places.
Also, Ber-months just started! AHHH I'M NOT GONNA DENY I WILL BE A FOREVER LOVER OF CHRISTMAS!!! ♥♥♥ I'M EXCITED :)
See you on my next blog!
