Come With Me To Siquijor

Hi kids, silent readers, and countrymen.

Today is another travel blog. This is gonna be sooo long so if you have a couple of minutes to spare then stay, if not, I'll see you on my next blog.

Honestly, travel blogs make me tired lol but I still wanna document it. The last year's me wouldn't even be this busy visiting new cities so I'm grateful.

and

of course, to my future kids.

Siquijor is famous for its witchcraft/voodoo/sorcery reputation. I remember watching an eerie documentary about this city as a kid. Honestly, it's not on my bucket list, but when your friend had already booked your ticket, you simply just could not say no. I love it though!

I usually bring my laptop with me when I travel but I opted to file a leave for this trip because it's my last one for 2025 and so I wanted to fully enjoy it and not stress about work.

I'm travelling with my friend's friends, so it's going to be fun.

Prior to the day of our flight, it was raining hard, and typhoon Uwan just hit the Ph so I was a bit worried if we needed to cancel the trip. I was fine with it tbh coz it's for everyone's safety.

But the weather got better somehow and we were able to fly out smoothly.

Read this book on the flight, and I just know my seat mate was judging me hard lol

We reached Dumaguete after almost an hour, then got on a boat to get to Siquijor, it was 30-45 minute of pure trauma coz of the strong waves but I made it alive—possibly with Katinko's help.

Finally!!

Our sundo picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel, Kai & Swakihan Guest House.

We got there just in time for check-in. Rested a bit in our rooms then had lunch at their restaurant.

I was NOT expecting this salad! It was huge af!

and got my first drink coz why not.

first group photo together - we lowkey shy shy pa lol

Our first day was basically a free one so we slept after and met at night to go bar hopping.

We went to CocoRico where I had Margarita and Strawberry Daiquiri (it's happy hour!!!)

Apparently, it's also the owner's birthday so they offered free shots at the bar so ofc I had to take some.

There was a photobooth just right across the bar, and got our photos taken.

otw to another bar

This time it's at JJ's Backpacker Village. I got Mojito and we danced!

The crowd was wild! Everyone was dancing, and it didn’t take long before the ladies at the next table jumped in and partied with us!

yeahh.. don't know most of them but they were all gorgeous!!!

The rest of the night was a blur and I can't believe it's only Day 1.

The next morning, we all met for breakfast. Tour starts today.

First stop was Siquijor Boulevard

yes just for this sign- when you visit new places, you love this kind of thing haha

doing the signature pose ofc

second was a quick stop at Siquijor Church, which is said to be the oldest church on the island.

izz giving very tourist vibes na dapat ma ROI ang ginastos sa tour lolol

n

Next stop was the Salagdoong Beach. The sand is so white and pure and it's famous for it's cliff diving attraction. Ofc I'm not gonna do it!

The sea bed was just a bit too rocky and stronger waves but the water was so blue! no filter needed.

maglalaba pero sa Siq lol

The clumsy me tripped and fell into some rocks and skinned my knee. I was trying to play it cool UNTIL I POURED SOME ALCOHOL ON IT.

For a split second I think I saw my mom...I'm not even kidding.

that wound hurts like a mf ugly cried for a bit.

Next stop was the Sambulawan Cave - I was not physically and mentally prepared for this. We had to leave everything coz we had to walk very steep ladders to get inside the cave. The descent alone would send me back to God I swear one wrong step and you're done.

The inside of the cave was really cool, but also a bit claustrophobic.

I had to be careful not to bruise my wound on the rocks since some of the paths were pretty narrow. At some point, I was lowkey having a panic attack out of fear and anxiety due to the small space.

The water was clear, yes, but it's also 15-20 ft. deep. even with a life vest, it's scary for me lol at least I tried and it was really breathtaking too.

otw to lunch!

I got this voodoo doll souvenir - not sure if this one's legit but if you throw up some nails and worms, u know what's up..

Anyway,

Our tour guide dropped us at Bay Front Restobar.

There were few customers when we got in so we took the chance to jam with the singer. We sang a few duets ("Hanggang Ngayon" and "Forever") it was so fun!

The food arrived shortly after.

Sisig was bomb!!! I didn't take much photos coz I was staaarving!!

Next one was called Cambugahay Falls - the famous fairy walk. I'm not gonna do that though but imagine if I did yeahh.. no I don't think so lol

There were around 125 steps down to get to the falls, maaaan I was so tired; my knees hurts already from the cave wtfff

I wanna try to jump but it's a spring water, and if you are not a swimmer, it's gonna be a challenge to get to the surface. We just swam and people-watched. I was getting swayed by the current so I gotta hold onto my friends most of the time fml

they were also selling these "love potion", if my crush isn't obsessed with me by the end of the week, it's fake . (UPDATE = scam af lololol)

After an hour or two, we decided to leave the falls and wrap up the tour for the day.

We headed back to the hotel to sleep, had dinner, and ofc another inuman session!

Grabbed a quick drink to cap the night at Lekwed.

Next morning.

After breakfast,

Our tour guide took us to Pitogo Cliff. I got my solo drone shot on a 40ft cliff! imagine my kaba lol but I just had to! (for the gram obv)

so nakakalula but the view was so nice!

We also took a group drone shot which was even scarier, 8 of us standing/sitting on the cliff. One wrong joke and slip and we're all done for lol

we managed though!

Next on our list was the Old Enchanted Balete Tree. It's believed to be around 400 years old! But it's now more famous for their fish spa. I dipped my foot once coz there were huge af fishes in there. I'm trying to get my dead skin cells removed, not my whole finger or toe.

see those??? yeahh

We also dropped by Hapitanan - a famous spot to get your witchy woo-hoo photo lol

huge ass voodoo doll!!!

Then finally, lunchtime.

After eating, we headed to the Lazi Church and Lazi Convent

I got to tell you this: something was eerie at that convent. The moment I stepped inside, the energy felt so heavy. They have this display of the previous priests's outfits out in the open. Just walking through them gave me the creeps.

One photo that really caught my attention was this nun. It looked like she was staring at me even when I was across the room idk I just felt like I was being followed by her stares. It was a weird feeling; I told the tour guide about it, and he admitted he felt the same. CREEPY SHIT

anywayyyy

this shot is cute

The next stop was BuCafe.

imagine this during sunset ahhhhhh

y'all need to try their empanada! I think it was around Php245 for 6 pcs and it's very sulit! we even took some home.

I just had to try their Matcha drink ofc!

Also, asked our tour guide to take my photos hehe

Last stop was Paliton Beach. We got there just in time for the sunset.

Had so much fun at the beach; we were dancing and making our own choreo to Voltes V's OST lol

We left before it got dark.

Rested back at the hotel. Man, this tita was so tired by then!

But

not too tired for a nightcap, we tried this cutesy bar near our place called Tipsy Bar.

I'm used to seeing foreigners here, but this was on another level!! Parang kami pa yung foreigner sa pinas kainissss. I  like what I see, though, lol.

We played drunk cards and had a few drinks. They looked so pretty!

I think these two are called "Screaming Orgasm" and Frozen Mango Mojito".

I woke up at 6am the next day to go for a run because again... got to keep the balance.

In all honesty, though, it's been a sworn tradition of mine to run to every new city I will visit, so yayyy! We unlocked Siquijor this time! I did a quick 5k run, indeed the best way to go around.

I got to see the Capilay Spring Park, and passed by some other establishments too.

To my surprise, it's a spring in the middle of the town plaza. If that's in Manila sobrang dumi na neto!

I went back to the hotel just in time for breakfast.

This wraps up our Siquijor tour!

We booked a day tour for Dumaguete since we will be flying out at night and had some time to spare in the morning. The rest of the Dumaguete tour will be on my next blog.

Overall, Siquijor is such a peaceful city despite its reputation; it's still a must-visit! I now understand why people call it the mystical island. I was enchanted.

And yes, I got myself a voodoo doll, so to everyone who wronged, hurt, lied, and cheated on me, if your back starts hurting, it wasn't me.

xoxo
