Come With Me to Bohol (Week 1)

LONG OVERDUE, but here's my first week in Bohol blog. Started drafting this when I was still in Cebu.

--------

Hi kids, this is Mom, sipping on her matcha latte at a cafe somewhere in Cebu. It's only Wednesday, and the sun is looking so bright. It's hot! I walked from my hotel to here because I've been bedrotting in my room for the past 2 days so I forced myself to dress cute and go out.

Anyway, this blog is gonna be about my 3-week trip in Bohol. I don't know where to start, so many ganaps and ofc gastos!

This trip was planned just a month before. I was still lucky to score a cheap ticket before it spiked due to the ongoing war. I came back because I wanted to visit my dear chingu, Mina! This time though, I'm going to fly solo so that's exciting. Also, we planned on doing some Canyoneering in Cebu so I figured I would extend my stay there for a whole week. It's also my first time in that city!!! Look at me doing a lot of firsts!!!

One of the main problems I had was my luggage. I'm such an overpacker, and this month-long trip away from home is my nightmare. I needed to mentally prepare myself weeks before to plan everything. My luggage gave out, so I got myself a bigger one just for this trip, Jusko!!!

Here's my nephew being all cute! Almost the same size as him lol

Came the flight day. This was so liberating, doing things alone but I loved every bit of it! It just fueled me to travel and see more of my homeland and maybe internationally if given a chance. (Hopefully this year too!)

Idc what you say but I'm always gonna be an anxious flyer hehe

Mina picked me up at the airport. I told her to hug me when she sees me, but she's not clingy at all!!!! She hates skinship lol but I still love her, and I love seeing her grossed-out reactions every everytime I show affection.

We headed to Panglao and checked in to our hotel, Harmony Hotel, where we will be staying for 5 nights. The room was spacious but the wifi was intermittent all throughout our stay.

Once we're settled in. We got dressed and started our working/vacay wtvr u wanna call it.

The first stop was lunch at Okyanus Restaurant. The food was good, but it's a bit on the expensive side, and the serving was just okay.

The wifi back at the hotel was still slow, but it improved at night, just in time for my shift.

THANK GOD.

The next morning, we visited a cafe called Comoda. This is my first matcha latte in Panglao, and sadly, it was a bit disappointing. Too sweet, you can hardly taste the matcha. We went back to the hotel and slept the whole afternoon.

We met with Soo in the afternoon, and we headed to Solea,

they have cafe in the roof deck with breathtaking views, just in time for sunset! Soo happened to be a photographer, and he brought his camera that time, and he took photos of us! Chingu was so niceuu lol I'm glad Mina was such model material! Her photos turned out great! I ordered a margarita this time while they had mango shakes.

soo pretty!

At dinnertime, we ate at Kissa, a nearby Japanese restaurant. They were so welcoming, they still took us in 15 minutes before their closing time!! The food was okay, a generous serving, but their matcha latte was a bit bland. T^T but we do love a good service ofc!!!

Soo had our photos printed too!

Mina and I tried the pool in our hotel at night. Felt like we rented the whole place! We both worked and then went to bed right after. It was a pretty productive day!

On our third day, we went to Alona beach, not to take a dip in the waters but to just take photos lol

We were approached by a creepy old dude and got Mina's number, it was a bit traumatizing coz he wouldn't stop tailing us, I'm so glad we were able to leave, it was also around 7pm and the beach was dark.

Did more strolling around the area and decided to go to the photobooth. At this time, I feel like it's a NEED every trip. I wish to do this in every city I'll be visiting in the future!

I'M SUCH A SUCKER FOR PHOTOBOOTH STRIPS!!

We ended up at Chada at dinnertime, I highly recommend their Mozzarella Sticks and Fries. Matcha latte was still a miss, but at least finally some good food.

The next day, I went on a run!!! Prolly one of the highlights, coz I really love and enjoy running in new cities. I was able to run last visit, but I tried a different route this time, which turned out to be a good decision: few cars and fewer people.

I asked Mina to join me for a short trip to the beach. It was scoooorching hot! didn't stay that long in the waters!

Tropa mong takot umitim lol

We dropped by a yogurt store right after.

Slept like babies back in the hotel, then went out again for lunch lol obv we're wasting no time here. We had Soo tried Filipino dishes at Diamond Restaurant - which was such a fail, the food was meh. I can honestly cook Sinigang better and I'm only a saktuhang cook lang!

Soo treated us some pastries at Mocado then we hopped to the cafe right across it called Sisters & Blake Coffee. Atp, it's my third matcha but it's still not giving!!! they looked nice but the taste was either bland or too sweet. I'm sure you'd love it if you prefer your matcha on the sweeter side. I just like mine a bit bitter and earthy.

This was our last night here in Panglao so we decided to end it with some drinks, we went to Oasis Resort and had some cocktails. I love looooove their margarita! Strong with just a hint of sweetness.

Look at my date lol

she barely touched her drink wth

Dropped by Comoda again to eat pizza before finally calling it a night.

u know this is what happens when sleep is not part of the itinerary lol

The next morning, we prepared our stuff and commuted our way back to Mina's hometown, Guindulman, which was a 2-hour ride away from Panglao. I'll be staying with them for the next 3 wks and I'm excited to live my province fantasy lol

Week 1 is done! See you on week 2!

Bye kids!

xoxo
