Lunch at President Grand Palace, Chinatown
Binondo has been quite the talk of the town recently. Food vloggers frequented this place a lot just to try the food. When me and my friends got there, there were lines of lines of people everywhere.
Since we were all so hungry, we didn't bother lining up at famous restaurants and opted for the available ones. I wanna try the dim sum, fried siopao, and tanghulu pa naman :( but no, every stall there was packed with people. So much so that it was causing traffic.
Don recommended the " President", at first glance looked like a syndicate's shell. Actually, this restaurant has been around for a long time and has made a reputation for its brand. If you notice, they also have some stalls at food courts. They are THAT popular.
When we came in, the few people dining there were mostly elderly and I even saw someone counting thick 1 thousand peso bills like they were doing some illegal transactions. Bhie baket ganito lol
I'M NOT OVERREACTING.
They almost turned us away saying it was a full house and we all stood there confused because WHERE???
We felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome like every staff there was looking at and us judging. The waiter was intimidating as in super! Like ayaw nya kami pa orderin, I kinda wanna leave at this point but we were already seated. Zap even joked na baka i hostage kami haha
The food we ordered arrived shortly and we ate. Despite the unsettling vibe of the place, the food was good! We had Yang Chao, Chicken, and their Beef Brisket Noodles.
It was delicious, generous serving, and value for money. All of this for not more than a thousand??! and we didn't finish all of it, we had some takeout.
My friends and I had been making the best out of that awkward lunch experience. Literal kala mo ma rraid kami anytime! that's when I realized that if a real raid were to happen or if it's some kind of syndicate, there's no chance of us getting out alive lol We're so unserious to the core! Magtatawanan na lang talaga kame!! ðŸ˜
Although that was one heck of a weird experience, it was still a fun one. If you come to Binondo and want to have a formal Chinese cuisine, you can't go wrong with the President.
We strolled around and got milk/fruit teas and bought the sisiw hair clips lol
Don enjoying his Pinwheel clip. We just strolled a little more.
My friend is so yayamanin she bought a new iPhone when we came across a PowerMac store in the middle of Chinatown???? Charot lang!! She was really supposed to buy a new phone that same day but we never got to go to a PowerMac store since we barely made it for the check-in. Surprisingly enough, we stumbled upon a store in Binondo so she got hers there.
Just goes to show that if it's really for you, you'll know it. HALA BAKET MAY LIFE LESSON??? LOLOLOL
Chinatown at night hits differently.
We were all tired so we decided to go back to our unit.
That's all for today! thanks for coming with us
bye mfs
